Breastfeeding Help On The North Shore


Resources for breastfeeding information – including the early days, the first year of breastfeeding, and beyond – all on the North Shore!

Coast Midwifery encourages everyone to be familiar with these resources, as you never know when you are going to need some support!

Maybe it’s at the beginning of breastfeeding, maybe it’s at the end.  Below is list of places you can get help with common breastfeeding challenges and concerns as well as information about general breastfeeding matters and inspiration.

  • Parent-Infant drop-ins:  Breastfeeding support from Public Health Nurses.  You can access baby weigh scales here and seek advice from the nurse, and participate in an ever-changing educational talk.  All four below are open from 1-3pm the talk is at 2pm.

  • Baby Nurse on Call: 604-983-6700 Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
  • I Hope Family Center:  Breastfeeding and Postpartum Group drop-in, lead by a lactation Consultant.  (Also has a wide range of education, support and counseling services.)
